Thank You

Thanks to each of you for your hard work and effort during the course of our study together. It has certainly been a learning experience for me. I hope each of you can take away something of value that you can use in your careers as educators.

I would welcome any comments you might offer about your experiences in the study. Please feel free to offer any constructive criticism that you feel might help me be a better educator in the future.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi jeff,
I would like to thank you for teaching me so much about technology. i definitely have learnt alot about computers that i am certain i will use in my future profession. If you would like to know what i believe, would have been benefical for you to do differently, through my own learning experience, hear goes. I understand that we did not have all that much time throughout this course to focus much time on certain things, but if we could have been focusing more time on creating blogs and wikis, step by step, it would have been great. Personally, i feel that i would hesitate to create this stuff in the future because both my blog and wiki are not that great because i dont know how to improve them. i have tried but was unsucessful in doing so. Also, if you could have, emailed us ongoing materials to file for future references, again, that would have been good. Having mentioned that, would it be possible for you to keep the wikispace up for awhile after the course is over to give me and others time to copy or print materials posted on these sites?
Once again, thanks Jeff for sharing your expertise with us.

Gail said: First of all, Jeff, thank you very much for your instruction, knowledge and experience in this field. I can tell you are very passionate about technology in education and also very committed to the idea of learning and not necessarily in the conventional way that I have always pictured (I think this is where we kind of parted ways! This is not necessarily a bad thing! Just different!) As I had mentioned to you before when we spoke in person, I felt that this course would have been better presented at UNB in the computer lab where we would have been all together and you would have been present for all of us if we were experiencing any difficulties or if we needed clarification on anything you were presenting. The present format made for a very challenging situation but I feel that the group here at Elsipogtog worked very hard and made the best of things. The course, however, was well structured and well presented. I am sure that I will be using this technology as a classroom teacher. Best wishes to you and your family, say hi to your Dad and tell him I am truly sorry for his personal loss.

Hey Jeff Whipple
Thanks for your expertise in this field of study, even though I really oppose all this "technicological" stuff I realize you have shown me alot of things and now I am more confident about this stuff. Please let us know about the class wiki and how long it is going to stay on the web for us so we may use it for future reference. You did a really good job despite it being such a changing time for you with the death of your mother. Also, hats off to you, you actually taught my mom something about technology and she nows how to check her email!(without me)
Any how good luck with all of your future students whatever their age group may be!

Hi Jeff. Thanks for your time and patience during our course. You have brought great knowledge into this course, unfortunately for some of us, our computers were so slow, that we couldn't keep up with you, when you were trying to show us some things. I think that it would've been better if we were all in one class, where we could have asked you questions, and you could have showed us how to do some of the things you tried to show us. All in all, I have learned quite a bit from this course. I was fortunate enough to have some help at home, I think my sons knew more about technology than I did. Thank you again, for your vast knowledge in technology.

Hi Jeff! I really enjoyed your class and I'm glad that I had the opportunity to take it. I've always enjoyed surfing the internet but sometimes I would be at a loss of what to do after I had checked my e-mail and did some basic research, now I know how to create a basic blog and a wikispace & import photos to those spaces and I feel as though they are going to be important for my future teaching career. Personally, I like step by step instructions when I'm doing something and I'm not an auditory learner so hearing instructions is no help to me at all. In the future you could provide step by step instructions on how to create a blog or wikispace and instructions on how they can be improved on the wikispace that can be printed off if needed. Thanks again for your effort and patience, I really did enjoy this class.

Hey there Jeff, just wanted to say thanks to you on the course and it really helped alot to have this course. I really enjoyed it and I liked doing the group presentation work. I really think it helped me get over some fears of talking in front of people. I know it took you alot of time and patience with us but it all paid off for us. I thank you again....

Hey Jeff,

Thank you for a very great class. It was trying at times, and frustrating for sure as well, but it was an enjoyable learning experience nonetheless. I really enjoy it and learned a lot about how to utilize technology in the classroom. Even just using the tools to get assignments done and presentations put together in a cohesive manner with my group/class members was phenomenal. I agree that it wouldhave been more effective in a lab setting, but I did enjoy our little satellite location just because it allowed us to work as a small group without feeling overwhelmed. I know I will take these skills with me and figure out a way to use at least one or two in the meantime. Until we meet again (virtual or otherwise), thanks again.

Jeff!!! THIS WAS AN AWESOME CLASS!! somethings would have been much more enjoyable, ON MY BEHALF, had I the tools I needed, but you showed me ways to use things, that I have needed to find out about. It was all very very interesting, and always enjoyable, even on those long days when I was all tired out, I still found out little things after that I could use. Or ways that I might be able to fix things. I love the blog!!! I am going to continue using it, I'm going to continue posting with it! I just want to thank you for showing us the way. And when I become a teacher, I am definitely going to use these skills and have my own blog or neat stuff for my kids for sure! Something kewl and constructive will be in there! Lots of things! Keep Up the Great Work Jeff, and Keep On BLOGGIn! You Did Great as far as I think!! :D Later! Melissa keep tuned in at the nest when ya get a chance! :D

Jeff

I really enjoyed these two technology courses very much, I have learned a lot of from you, especially the blogs and wiki’s I enjoyed working with Gail, Mona and Lisa, with our group presentations. Sometimes it was very challenging, but it was the process of learning new technology.

When we first started I wonder what and how to use these programs to teach our children/students. But as the end is near, now I know.

Thank you for all the information you have given us. I will put to good use.

Hello Jeff,

It is too bad we didn't get the opportunity for your presence in Burnt Church. It would have been nice. I have to say you did an excellent job considering what you went through. Thanks to you I have learned so much. I am much more confident and less afraid in using and playing around with the computer. I didn't know anything before but I know a lot now. Wikis, blogs, sending emails with attachments, power points and just basic searches. Hopefully someday we will meet again face to face. One last thing, I feel you don't have to change anything you did a good job.

Thanks so much for everything.

Dear Jeff, I have to say that you are a good instructor; understanding the circumstances that you were teaching from, meaning that the reception wasn't always the best because of weather conditions and so forth. I do know more now than before this course started and also have to admit that I am not so afraid of the computer any more. It is too bad that us girls here in Burnt Church couldn't meet you in person, but seems to me you are compassionate about your job, and keep up the good work. P.S. Sorry again on your loss, and a Thank You from me for your condolences towards me on my brothers passing. Sincerely, Carla Ward

Good afternoon Jeff, Well first of all id like to say thank you. Thank you for sharing ur smarts in technology and guiding us through this course. Its been a great journey learning about technology and how to use it in our classrooms when we become teachers. One thing tho, we did our course so early on and b4 we know it we'll be teachers and there will be more gizmos and gadgets that we'll need to learn about so we can utilize them in our classrooms... We might need to get updated later in the years! I enjoyed the course and testing my skills on computers.. its been fun, minus the blogging! Anyway, thank you and take care.

Hi Jeff, I want to thank you for preparing me as a 21st century teacher. Although our time was limited, I have learned a WHOLE lot in the past few weeks. I now have the skills to use the internet in a more effective and appropriate way. I particularly liked the wiki pages, although I am still learning about them, I hope to use it in my classroom someday. It is apparent that you have a strong passion for technology and it showed in your lectures and presentations. I don’t know how you keep up with it all, with all the other things you are doing. The only thing that stressed me out during this course was trying to keep up with all the reading, doing the assigned projects, while still trying to learn about the topics. It will come though. Other than that…….I am on my way to the 21st century knowing I had a passionate and knowledgeable teacher showing me the way.
Best of luck to you in the future, I am sure we will meet again!

Hi Jeff,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for giving me a great learning experience. I have learned so much from this course. You were an excellent instructor. I will certainly use all of this technology that you have taught me in the future. It is too bad that we didn't get to meet you in person. Maybe someday I will get to meet you and thank you in person.

So take care and thank you again

Jeff,
To one heck of a patient instructor...and I mean this in a good constructive way!!!! I sincerely don't know how you did it. No wonder you mentioned one day in class that you only go to bed late. The whole set up...made it so much more easier for us. I can't possibly imagine the time and effort you put into preparing the whole course. I truly hope you got more out of teaching us this course as much as I did. I am so much more confident about technologies now.
Thanks a million and hope to see you again. Maybe someday and that would be awesome, we will all get to see you on some site doing a presention with your idol, Mr. Warlick himself. God knows you have the potentials.
Best of luck!!

Hey Jeff,
I, like everyone else apparently, want to thank you for all the hard work and patients you put forth for us all. I very much enjoyed this course and feel as though I am coming out of this with more than I expected, I mean this in the sense that I thought that I knew more than I actually did. I cant fathom the amount of time that you have commited to us and this course, only if I could only walk a mile in your shoes, then maybe. I look forward to using all of the things I have learned during this course in my future classroom. Take care!

Hi Jeff,
I would like to thank you for a job well done. I have learned a lot of things from this course and wished I could have also taken the first one. But I guess things happen for a reason. Anyway you did a great job and I am not so afraid of the computer anymore.I hope that when I have my own classroom that I will be able to use most of the things you taught us.The only downfall with this course was that we didn't have enough time to spend on each topic but I guess that comes with the way we are taking our courses. This is no fault of yours.Take care and who knows maybe we'll meet up again someday.

I would like to say that the past three weeks have been very stressful; everyone was trying to get their assignments in on time and prepare for the presentations. So far the presentations have been awesome.
Thanks to you Jeff, you have opened up a whole new world out there for us in helping us to prepare our journey into becoming great teachers.
I am glad that the assignments are all done and I have gained so much knowledge, like I said before, I can't wait to implement what I have learned and start to get creative with working on lesson plans, etc...
The end is bittersweet; we could have used at least another week or so just to implement all that we have learned. Getting to togther with all the class at UNB and work on lesson plans and presentations just to get us used to using all that we have learned.
You pushed us and made us think about education in ways that were unfamiliar to us. But it really opened my eyes to the many possibilities that are going to be at our fingertips as educators.
Of course I would like to keep in touch because I know that there is more out there to learn and who better to learn it from than you. Once again Thank you very much.

Just one more thing Jeff...I was so against blogging at the beginning because I really didn't want other people to see what I had written. I'm usually a very private person.
I feel different about the whole process and I plan on keeping up with my blog space and I hope I'll see the rest of my classmates blogging too.
It is a great way to share your hobbies and favourite past-times.

Well Jeff; In our culture we don't say Good-bye; BUT we’ll be seeing you! I hope that you will always be a resource for us in the future. I know that you’re very passionate about your work, and it showed through your organizational skill, preparation throughout the courses, teaching and facilitating. I want to thank you for our opening our eyes to the wonderful things technology can do for us. I know that sometime we as adults fear the unknown, you made it easier for us even when we tried to resist, and you still made us feel confident that we can do it, you gave us the tools to succeed in our courses. I like most people was afraid to write my thoughts where everyone can see. The blogging and using blogger was difficult to start; once we started and accepted that part of the course and the main thing was it's our opinion, so it can’t be wrong, right! I have learned so much and I will have to make sure that my textbooks is not in the box somewhere, but it’s a valuable tool that I thinks every teacher should have. So for now, I would like to that Oelaalieg Jeff for all that you have instilled in us! Great job and keep up the great work!!

Hi Jeff,
Like I,ve been saying the whole course through that I was truly an illiterate with technology but I have learned so much. I have more confidence with the technology and tools. It was too bad that you couldn't be with us right in our classes to help us, sometimes it was too fast that we couldn't keep up with step by step instuctions. I have been blessed to have taken this course at the right time because I just got my portable smartboard just the other day and it is just amazing what I can do with it. I've been busy visiting the website lists that were handed out to us from the last presentations. We all have learned so much and I would like to say Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise. It is something that I could expand on. Looking forward to using technology and teaching technology to my FUTURE students. Hope to see you again in the future. Good luck and good health.

Jeff, thanks for everything. I have certainly learned a lot of really useful tools using technology. I am very anxious to graduate and use the stuff in my classroom, but for now I will try to keep using the stuff I have learned so that I will not forget it all by the time that these three remaining years are over. I sure hope that all the students that were in our class will continue to play around with all the things that we have learned. By watching everyone's presentations then I know we all did a really good job. Great Job Everyone! Have a great spring and summer.

Jeff things seem to happen to fast these days.I feel we have just gotten started and now it is over. There are so many things out there for teachers and students.I think a class like this should be offered to more teachers so they to cna learn what we did. Even though we only scratched the surface, but at least we got started.By the way we influniced Jeramy alot he is now starting a school Wiki and looking at starting class blogs. That is kool!

Thank you Jeff for your hard work and dedication and providing the best learning enviroment as possible. I have learned a lot about our computer world and I am amazed at what is out there.
I thought you were a good instructor and were clear in your instructions but at times you were a little fast and I would get lost trying to keep up with you. This is coming from a person who really does not have much experience with computers and the lingo. So I hope that this is some good constructive criticism and I wish you the best of luck.

First, of all I would like to say I really enjoyed the presentations, I found everyone did a wonderful job presenting their topics.
Secondly, I want to thank you Jeff for all that you have taught me about computers and technology. As an instructor you have been dedicated, patient, and very helpful. I know that everthing that you have taught me on wikis, blogs, and podcasts will be put to good use.

Thanks,
